FAQ

What is the best time for maternity Session?

The best time is truly whenever you feel ready. Maternity photography is a celebration of your journey, your body, and your unique story — and it’s rooted in self-love. The size of your belly doesn't define the beauty of the moment.

I personally recommend scheduling your session between 30 to 36 weeks. Around this time, your bump is usually beautifully round, and you're still relatively comfortable for posing — including soft, feminine poses like sitting or lying down, which add a lot of emotion and depth to the images.

But don’t underestimate the beauty of earlier sessions — they carry a certain softness and femininity. There’s something incredibly delicate and intimate about those early months, capturing the quiet glow and tenderness of new beginnings.

So whether you’re showing just a little or a lot — if you feel connected, empowered, and ready — that’s the perfect time.

What should I wear for my session?

This is one of the most common questions I get — and my answer always starts with this: I’m here to photograph YOU, not your clothes.
What you wear should feel like an extension of who you are. It’s not about trends or perfection — it’s about presence, emotion, and memory.

I personally love when clients bring and wear their own pieces. Your favourite oversized shirt, a soft dress you’ve worn through this pregnancy, or even a partner’s T-shirt — all of these hold energy and meaning. They tell a story. They feel real. I still remember exactly what I wore during my own pregnancy — not because it was glamorous, but because it was mine, and it takes me back to that time in the most heartfelt way.

My photography style leans toward minimalism, softness, and raw beauty. Bare skin, natural textures, undone hair — these are the things I’m drawn to. But if you'd love to elevate your look or add something special, I’ve got you covered. My client wardrobe includes a selection of delicate, sheer robes, layering pieces, and carefully chosen fabrics that we can drape and play with to add movement, texture, and softness to your images.

Whether you come in your own cozy knit or borrow something from my wardrobe, my priority is making you feel comfortable, confident, and seen — just as you are.

What is the weather is bad on my day?

That’s such a great (and tricky!) question — and one I get asked often.

Personally, I love working with beautiful golden light and sunny skies. That soft, natural glow brings out the warmth, depth, and softness I adore in my images. But I’ve also learned to embrace the moodiness and quiet beauty of rainy or overcast days — there's something quite poetic about it when done intentionally.

That said, if the weather is very cold, wet, or wildly windy — especially during winter months — I usually recommend rescheduling. Your comfort and safety are always my top priorities, and I want you to feel relaxed and present, not freezing or battling the elements (unless you're truly up for it!).

Of course, if you’re feeling adventurous and still want to go ahead — I’m happy to make magic with you in any conditions!

And here’s the good news: if you’ve booked a studio session or an indoor location for your maternity or newborn experience, then weather won’t affect us at all. We’ll have full control of light, comfort, and mood — and I promise, it will be just as beautiful.

No matter what, we’ll stay in touch leading up to your session and make the best decision together based on the forecast.
